About the Event
Following a huge sell out success earlier this year, Tralee Musical Society’s nationally acclaimed, award winning production returns to the Siamsa Tíre stage. This epic production with an ensemble of 40 performers vividly brings to life the events of the 1916 Rising, the War of Independence and the Irish Civil War.
Michael Collins takes the intrinsically fascinating story of the emergence of the Irish nation, and heightens its power by setting it to thrilling live music with lavish sets and lighting along with a hugely talented local cast and crew.
Tralee Musical Society’s production of Michael Collins has already received four awards nationally for its production including Best Overall Show, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. The show has previously received fantastic reviews, standing ovations and huge audience support – this epic, live musical drama is a definite calendar event for all diaries.
Munster Express “amazing and filled with pathos, excitement, drama, history, and a huge surge of emotion”
Association of Irish Musical Societies “the show resonated on so many levels, and reached so high in its ambition that inevitably it resonated in unexpected ways with audiences”
