About the Event
Rush Musical Society will soon set sail for the much loved Nautical Musical Comedy “Anything Goes” which runs in March for nine nights. There could be no better place to stage this seafaring comedy than the beautiful seaside town of Rush. Audiences are promised some great Cole Porter numbers like “ Anything Goes”, “I get A Kick out of you” and “Bon Voyage” to name a few. Everybody is really enjoying working with Acclaimed Belfast Director Wilfie Pyper who is directing down south once again. Sarah Lynch Barrett and Aidan Vaughey are working hard as always to ensure the cast are at their musical best for this lively show. The society would like to welcome Michael Evans onboard this year at short notice as Choreographer. All in the Society would like to wish Maura Talbot well as she had to pull out due to unforeseen circumstances. The show is proving to be a big hit with the cast, with plenty of laughs along the way. It is always great to see familiar faces back on stage, and also fantastic to see a wealth of new talent joining the society again this year. The extra commitment by all members this year was much commended as the unprecedented snow and ice in December greatly interrupted rehearsal schedules. Let’s hope we don’t meet any Icebergs along the way!
The cast onboard the S.S American will feature Damien Hurley as “Billie Crocker”, Mags Carrick as “Reno Sweeney”, Will Fitzpatrick as “Sir Evelyn Oakleigh”, Ciaran Canavan as “Moonface Martin”, Niamh Kavanagh as “Hope Harcourt”, Helen Kavanagh as “Evangeline Harcourt”, Tara Harrison as “Erma” and Donal Collins as “Elisha J. Whitney”. Full Cast listing is available on the RMS Website.
