About the Event

LIMERICK Musical Society will present their ever popular Christmas concert "Season's Greetings" on Thursday, December 9th in the crisp, serene surroundings of St. Mary's Cathedral. Now in it's fifth year, this event has grown enormously in popularity.
Season's Greetings has become an annual pre-Christmas event in Limerick, and was described last year as "one of the most enjoyable evenings of music and song ever experienced", another comment from a member of the audience "it really kicks off that wholesome and heart warming Christmas feeling that I love".
Apparently there is great public anticipation to see and hear the society's next intoxicating installment of entertainment, following their national awards last summer, and hot off the heels of the critically acclaimed "Hollywood Hits On Tour", which finished in mid-October, where it toured to different venues in the mid-west. Limerick Musical Society have amassed a wonderful line-up for this magical night of Christmas cheer. Past guest artistes have included Cara O'Sullivan, Regina Nathan and Nyle Wolfe.
This year Limerick Musical Society have invited the award-winning Mezzo Soprano, Sarah-Ellen Murphy and Limerick's finest young tenor, Nigel Dugdale.
According to Limerick Musical Society Artistic Director, Richie Ryan: 'We are delighted that Sarah and Nigel, both from Limerick have agreed to join us for this wonderful festive concert'.
Also included are Limerick's most well-renowned artistic groups, Limerick Musical Society's male and female chorus; SEODA, Ladies Choir; Cantette, Children's Choir; County Limerick Youth Choir, Limerick Gospel Choir and Limerick’s Boherbuoy Brass and Reed Band under the baton of Derbhile de Paor.
Captivated audiences from last year's event were held spellbound as some of the best local talent in the city and county took their breath away with a wonderful programme of popular Christmas music.
The beautiful ambience of the Cathedral combined with some of the most heartwarming pieces of music and song composed for a very special occasion will give an added bonus to this nostalgic occasion. Get your Christmas spirit rekindled again this year! It will be a really beautiful evening, guaranteed.
So, let's hope you can join Limerick Musical Society, where one will enjoy the yuletide musical experience under the musical direction of Maire Keary-Scanlon.
Tickets are limited and are available at 085-1985784
