About the Event

CARRIE The Musical is a thrilling and engaging retelling of Stephen King’s classic thriller novel Carrie. It tells the story of Carrie White, a teenager from a small town in New England, who is relentlessly bullied at school for being different and is harshly controlled at home by her fanatical mother. The CIT Musical Society is ecstatic to have been granted special permission to present the Irish Premiere of this revised and revitalised version of CARRIE The Musical.

Under the direction of award winning director Joseph C. Walsh (Hairspray, The Cork Opera House), and musical direction by the talented Michael Young, this promises to be a unique and exciting production that hopes to bring the audience closer to the action than ever before. The cast is led by Cork’s own Jean Elliot Murphy, as Carrie’s fanatical mother, Margaret White. The role of Carrie White will be played by first year BA in Theatre and Drama Studies student Madeleine Webb, who will be making her debut with the CIT Musical Society.
