New Irish Musical: Gatsby - The New Musical

Following a number of successful workshops over the last number of years,  Break- A- Leg Productions are thrilled to take to the stage with a Brand New Irish Musical : Gatsby - The New Musical

The show is taking to the stage in The Civic Theatre on Friday 8th of March at 8pm for ONE NIGHT ONLY.  The show’s composer & lyricist Peter Beckett is showcasing this show in the hope that societies may look at as a possible production in their future.

This showcase, a moved and costumed performance  is being directed by renowned Director Noel McDonough and features a nine piece band which we hope will capture the style and sound of the roaring twenties.

Speaking ahead of this production, Peter Beckett said:  I am taking this showcase to the stage before the majority of societies seek to decide what they might perform in 2024 or indeed look ahead to 2025  Ideally I would have liked to have performed this for longer than one night but hopefully the audience will enjoy, engage and be inspired by our one off performance!  

The show will feature well known faces on the AIMS scene including Kevin Hartnett, Keila- Ana Whelan, Yasmine Missaoui and Ruairí Nicholl to name a few.

Gatsby depicts the raucous and romantic heady days of the Jazz Age in 1922 whilst highlighting class distinction in the pursuit of the American Dream. Narrator Nick Carraway guides us through this iconic tale as Jay Gatsby relentlessly pursues his first love – Daisy Buchanan.
