The Cecilian Musical Society is proud to announce the Irish Amateur Premiere of
We Will Rock You, the worldwide smash-hit musical by Queen and Ben Elton. The
show will take to the stage at the Lime Tree Theatre, Limerick, from November
19th – 22nd, 2025.
With over a century of musical theatre tradition, the Cecilian Musical Society —
founded in 1919 and the oldest musical society in the region — continues to bring
world-class entertainment to Limerick audiences. Following the success of last year’s
The Wedding Singer, which was met with rave reviews and packed houses, the
society is thrilled to take on this exhilarating rock spectacular.
Featuring 24 of Queen’s greatest hits, including Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody
to Love, Don’t Stop Me Now, and We Are the Champions, We Will Rock You is a
high-energy, futuristic adventure that celebrates individuality, freedom, and the power
of live music.
This multi-million-dollar global phenomenon has been seen by over 20 million
people worldwide, and now, for the first time, will be performed by an Irish amateur
company.
Directed by Des Henn, choreographed by Barbara Meany, and under the musical
direction of Conor McCarthy, the production boasts a stellar local cast including
Moya Henn, Emmet Donlon, James O’Donovan, Aoife Hennessy, Brian Curtin,
Hilary Phayer, and Brian Henry.
