The Light Opera Society of Tralee is pleased to announce their production of Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods. This is a real family show. It is, however, also a fairy story with a difference. A Cinderella who’s not quite sure how she feels, a blood-thirsty Little Red Riding hood, a not very bright Jack – he of the beanstalk fame - a Prince Charming whose anything but charming and a Witch who, of all things, raps? Oh! And did we mention the cow, the Giant, his wife/widow and the ghost? These are some of the cockeyed characters in James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim’s fractured fairy tale which won eight Tony Awards and was recently released as a film musical starring Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep.
