Important Ticket Update
With just under 4 weeks to go, we wanted to share a small update. We've seen, heard and listened to your feedback since tickets went on sale - it was brought to the attention of the National Council and after much discussion and careful consideration at a meeting over the weekend - a decision was taken.
As a result of your direct feedback, we've adjusted the ticket price for Ovation! to a single price of €55 to make this anniversary celebration as accessible as possible.
To everyone who had already bought a ticket at the original price, thank you - we really appreciate the early support with this event, unfortunately in these circumstances as a volunteer-led not for profit organisation , we're not in a position to offer refunds of the difference but we are incredibly grateful for your support and hope the small benefit of securing the best available seats first helps slightly.
CONCERT PRESS RELEASE:
Ovation!- AIMS - Association of Irish Musical Societies- 60th Birthday Celebration!
DUBLIN, Ireland – The Association of Irish Musical Societies (AIMS), which has been celebrating Ireland's passion for musicals since its founding in 1965, is proud to present Ovation! - AIMS 60th Celebration - for one night only!
This special event will take place at The Convention Centre Dublin on Saturday, October 11th, bringing together some of the country's best amateur musical talent for a night of performance.
Each year, over 130 amateur musical societies across the island of Ireland produce shows for their local communities. The AIMS celebration will feature a cast and crew drawn from these societies, with performers who had auditioned from all over the country. This will be a celebration of our great love of musical theatre and inclusivity.
Ovation! will celebrate the rich history and future of musicals, featuring well-known songs from shows like Miss Saigon, Matilda, and Jesus Christ Superstar, as well as other musical gems for the audience to discover. There's a setlist of over 35 pieces promising a packed programme of entertainment, woven into a creative narrative from our production team - this will be something special with performances to match what you' see on the West End and Broadway from some of our finest performers!
Kate Furlong, AIMS National PRO, commented, "This night is a celebration of our shared love for musicals, showcasing some of Ireland’s brightest and best amateur musical talent on the stage of The Convention Centre."
The production is led by a talented creative team: EJ Reilly (Director), Shane Farrell (Musical Director), and Jonny Smith (Choreographer). Together, they have worked with the cast to create a memorable evening.
