About the Event
Tralee Musical Society’s latest musical production of Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA, will make its Munster premiere when it arrives at Siamsa Tire this April for 5 performances only. Based on the story from the classic Verdi opera, AIDA is a musical with a modern high energy pop score.
The plot hinges on a forbidden love triangle involving the Pharaoh’s daughter, Amneris, her fiancé, Radames and a captured princess,Aida .
A slave, Mereb, tries to help his princess, Aida, to escape back to her home country, Nubia.
Set against a backdrop of loyalty, betrayal, and forbidden love, Aida is the story of three people who are forced to make difficult choices that will alter history forever.
Tralee Musical Society has earned a reputation for top-quality productions and their 2011 production of Michael Collins saw the society nominated for 4 AIMS national awards and the society were extremely proud to scoop the 2011 AIMS Best Overall Production Award last June.
With a pop-rock score that features stirring ballads and rousing choral numbers, AIDA is a modern crowd pleaser with exuberant dancing, staging and singing.
Tralee Musical Society production of Aida will run at Siamsa Tíre – The National Folk Theatre – opening on Wednesday April 25th to Sunday April 29th. Bookings 066-7123055.
