About the Event
Fortwilliam Musical Society bring their award-winning and critically acclaimed company for the first time to the Theatre at the Mill with their fun and colourful production of this wonderful and much loved family favourite.
They will tell the story of young Oliver, an orphan who runs away from the workhouse and ends up in the sinister back streets of London, and is befriended by many colourful characters such as The Artful Dodger and Fagin, who operates a gang of thieves, pickpockets and urchins. Oliver soon becomes embroiled in this world, perhaps never to escape, however - he has no idea that he isn’t an orphan after all...
Oliver’s story is well known, but this talented and entertaining musical society will bring a fresh, exciting delivery of the famous Dickens’ tale, with award winning direction and choreography from Siobhan Mullin and Angela Harding, along with 30 years of experience from award winning Musical Director William Cairns MBE, allowing the audience to enjoy an evening of drama, music and laughter suitable for all the family.
Featuring classic musical tunes such as “Consider Yourself”, “Be Back Soon” and “As Long as He Needs Me”, this highly popular local group will deliver this witty, moving and timeless story with their usual flair, style and talent, sure to delight audiences of all ages and tastes.
