The 2017/2018 AIMS Adjudication and Awards Scheme has come to an end. This season saw 103 shows adjudicated by Ciarán Mooney (Gilbert) and Peter Kennedy (Sullivan), an increase of 1 on the previous season. This year, the Gilbert section had 53 shows and the Sullivan section had 50 shows.
The most popular shows this year were driven be a re-release of performance rights of popular shows. This season, we had 12 productions of Sister Act and 8 productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, while All Shook Up remained popular, with 7 productions.
This season saw a smaller number of premiering productions than recent years, with premieres Mr. Carter, Bad Girls The Musical and Top Hat included. Funny Girl made a re-appearance after a long absence.
Nominations for the '17/'18 season will be announced on Sunday 20th May in New Ross, with the award winners being announced on Saturday 16th June in the INEC, Killarney.
