The 2018/2019 AIMS Adjudication and Awards Scheme has come to an end. This season saw 106 shows adjudicated by Tony McCleane-Fay (Gilbert) and Billy Rea (Sullivan), an increase of 3 on the previous season. This year, the Gilbert section had 54 shows and the Sullivan section had 52 shows.
The most popular shows this season follow the trend set in the previous season, with 8 productions of Sister Act. Unsurprisingly, the recently-released Chicago was very popular this season with 7 productions. 9 to 5 The Musical and Jesus Christ Superstar remain favourites with 5 productions each. Audience favourites also feature heavily, with 4 productions each of All Shook Up, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Grease, The Addams Family and The Sound of Music.
This season saw premiering productions of Chicago, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Elf The Musical and Made In Dagenham.
Nominations for the '18/'19 season will be announced on Sunday 19th May in New Ross, with the award winners being announced on Saturday 15th June in the INEC, Killarney.
