(22/05/2018) by Kate Furlong

The lights have dimmed on the 2017/2018 AIMS Adjudication and Awards Scheme. Over this thoroughly entertaining season, our Adjudicators Ciaran Mooney (Gilbert) and Peter Kennedy (Sullivan) saw 103 shows from all across the country.

This season has seen well-known and loved shows like, My Fair Lady, The Wiz, Hello Dolly and Sweet Charity sharing the stage with newer shows including All Shook Up, The Producers, Sister Act and Spring Awakening, which once again has provided a versatile and thoroughly entertaining season.

5 Societies are shining bright as they've received  four nominations each including Bravo Theatre Group (Ragtime) , UCD Musical Society (Spring Awakening), Coolmine Musical Society (All Shook Up), South Eastern Theatre Group (Jesus Christ Superstar) and Lexilip Musical and Variety Group (West Side Story)

Carrick-on Suir (Into the Woods), Kilcock MS (Sister Act), Trinity Musical Theatre Society (Evita) and Belfast Music and Drama Society (West Side Story) are among those celebrating receiving three nominations.

New Ross Musical Society (Top Hat), Dunboyne Musical Society (Oklahoma!), Killarney Musical Society (Sweet Charity) and Tipperary Musical Society (Pirates of Penzance) are among those who'll be cheering along on the night with two nominations.

Speaking at the Nominations, AIMS National President Seamus Power said, I would like to congratulate and thank all the AIMS Societies for the energy, commitment and dedication which has amazed me over the last year. Congratulations to all those fortunate to be nominated and looking forward to seeing you all in Killarney!
