Anne O'Neill Bursary Applications
(20/04/2009) by Niall Heaney

Applications are now being sought for the Anne O'Neill bursary.

Anne O'Neill was a Musical Director, Chorus Mistress and accompanist who worked in AIMS and associated circles for 30 years. She always had a soft spot for people trying to "Make it in the business" and supported them in every way she could. Anne has sadly passed on, but she wouldn't approve of anything more than a bursary in her name to help people studying in the field, so that's why this bursary exists.

The Bursary is for 1,500 and is kindly provided by Anne's family in her name and is administered by the AIMS Youth and Education Sub-Committee. Anyone who is a full time student in a recognised Theatre/Drama School may apply. The bursary is now in its 6th year and is fast being established as an important stepping stone for recipients.

Interested parties should send three copies of their CV, a letter of application as well as the names of two referees to Mary Butler, AIMS National Secretary, Slieve Bloom, The Mall, Thurles, Co. Tipperary by June 4, 2008.

Once applications have been received suitable candidates will be invited to interview/audition during the AIMS Youth Summer School July 8th to 13th in Thurles. Applicants should carefully read the guidelines regarding the bursary.
